Mr. Li Yuming joined Zhonglun W&D in 2010 and is a Partner at the firm's Shanghai Office. Since commencing his practice, Mr. Li has focused on civil and commercial dispute resolution, corporate compliance, and private wealth management. Mr. Li has long advised domestic and international enterprises of scale as well as public figures, representing clients in numerous high-stakes litigation and arbitration matters involving substantial claim values and broad industry impact. In 2020, he was accredited by the Shanghai Bar Association as a Specialized Lawyer in three practice areas: Corporate Law, Intellectual Property, and Finance, Securities & Insurance.

 

Mr. Li serves as a guest lecturer at Sun Yat-sen University, East China Normal University, Beijing Normal University (Zhuhai Campus), and Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. His scholarly works—including Damages Principles under the Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and A Study on the Seat of Arbitration in International Commercial Arbitration—have been published by Global Arbitration Review in The Guide to Damages in International Arbitration (7th Edition) and by the Shanghai Arbitration Association in Research on Arbitration Theory and Practice (Law Press China, February 2023), respectively. Mr. Li also co-authored International Trade, Investment and Engineering Legal Practice and Dispute Resolution under the Belt and Road Initiative (Law Press China, November 2020).

  • Represented a private equity fund in a dispute against a construction company and a local SOE, with a claim value of approx. RMB 100 million. 
  • Represented a real estate developer in land development and construction disputes against a town government, with a claim value exceeding RMB 500 million. 
  • Represented a state-owned listed company in a dispute over a project management contract against a Shanghai-based company, with a claim value of approx. RMB 200 million. 
  • Represented a state-owned engineering company in an offshore construction dispute, with a claim value of approx. RMB 100 million. 
  • Represented a state-owned energy company in a vessel allision liability dispute, with a claim value of approx. RMB 500 million. 
  • Represented a foreign company in a letter of credit fraud dispute involving a state-owned enterprise and a bank, with a claim value of approx. RMB 70 million. 
  • Represented an overseas subsidiary of a central SOE in a trade dispute before CIETAC, with a claim value of approx. RMB 20 million. 
  • Represented an overseas subsidiary of a central SOE in a charterparty dispute against an energy subsidiary of another central SOE before HKIAC, with a claim value of approx. RMB 40 million. 
  • Represented an enterprise in a hotel management dispute against a Malaysian company before HKIAC, with a claim value of approx. RMB 50 million. 
  • Represented a state-owned enterprise in a financing-type trade dispute against another SOE, with a claim value of approx. RMB 1 billion. 
  • Represented multiple financial institutions in financial lending contract disputes, with aggregate claim values exceeding RMB 1 billion. 
  • Represented a listed company in a trade secret misappropriation dispute against a foreign company, with a claim value of approx. RMB 60 million. 
  • Provided IP protection services to "HUAWEI", "MEISSEN", "VANS", " FLORTTE", and Uni-President Enterprises Corp. 
  • Legal Counsel for the MovieLove After Love 
  • Represented multiple public figures in matters relating to artist management agreements, defamation, and personality rights.
